Most full-service urgent care centers operate on-site digital X-ray, letting a clinician evaluate a suspected fracture, joint injury, or straightforward chest complaint in a single visit — no hospital radiology appointment required.

What urgent care X-ray covers

Typical use cases are extremity injuries (wrists, ankles, fingers, feet), suspected simple fractures, joint injuries, and clinician-ordered chest films. Images are usually read on-site with radiologist over-read arrangements for confirmation. Complex trauma, suspected spine injuries, and anything requiring CT or MRI belong at a hospital.

How a visit works

You'll be examined first — X-ray is ordered only when it changes treatment. If a simple fracture is found, urgent care can typically splint it and refer you to orthopedics for follow-up; obviously deformed or open fractures should go straight to the ER.

What it costs
