UrgentCares.co is a neutral directory of urgent care and walk-in clinics — every center we can verify, not just booking partners. We cover all 50 states, with our deepest verified coverage in Illinois.

Where our data comes from

Every listing starts from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) — the federal registry maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in which every healthcare organization in the United States must record its legal name, address, and contact information. We refresh against NPPES updates, de-duplicate multi-entity locations, and display each clinic's NPI number on its profile so anyone can independently verify a listing against the federal registry.

Where shown, star ratings are attributed to their platform (e.g., Google) with review counts, and hours, services, and insurance details on ✓ Claimed listings are provided or confirmed by the clinics themselves. Unclaimed listings show registry data only, with a reminder to call ahead.

Community figures shown on city and state pages — population, age mix, median household income, health insurance coverage, and poverty rate — come from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates (Data Profiles DP03 and DP05), retrieved through the Census Data API. Each city page names the exact Census geography its figures describe: an incorporated place, a township, a county (for New York City boroughs), or the ZIP Code Tabulation Areas where that city's clinics are located. Clinic counties and census tracts come from the Census Geocoder. ACS figures are survey estimates with margins of error; see census.gov/acs.

How clinic verification works

Clinics claim their listings through our free claim process. Before publishing changes we verify ownership against the clinic's listed phone number or NPI record. Claimed listings are marked with a ✓ badge so readers always know which data came directly from the clinic.

Editorial standards

Our guides and local articles follow three rules.Primary sources only: health claims cite the CDC, NIH (MedlinePlus), the American Academy of Pediatrics, CMS, or the Illinois Department of Public Health, and every article lists its sources. No diagnosis: we publish health-services information — where to go, what things cost, how care works — not medical advice; emergencies always route to 911.Real numbers, honestly ranged: costs are presented as documented ranges, never invented precision.

See something wrong — an address, hours, a closed clinic, a factual error? Email hello@urgentcares.co and we'll investigate and correct promptly. Clinics can update their own information any time via the claim process.

How we make money

Basic listings are free and always will be. Clinics can claim listings free of charge; we plan optional paid placement for claimed clinics, which will always be labeled when it appears. We do not sell patient data and we do not accept payment to alter ratings or editorial content.
